cooler weather = dryer skin

Brr this cooler weather is sending my skin into a frenzy, it's dryer than usual which makes it feel tight and i also find that it makes my make up look quite drab. I thought i would share with you some skin savers when it comes to cooler weather!

Now everyone hopefully knows that "moisture is key" it's so important to keep your skin moisturised to help prevent early ageing signs and to improve the over all appearance and feel of your skin. If you have oily skin, don't be scared off by this post because even oily skin needs moisture. Adding moisturiser to oily skin can help slow down the production of sebum on the face, as when we apply moisture to our skin it increases the water content in the skin and over time our sebum producing cells will slowly shut down when certain oils and moisture is used as our skin is being given moisture instead of your body needing to produce natural moisture called Sebum (oil). So listen up pretties!

Before moisturising it's a good idea to get rid of all the dead skin cells and damaged skin by using a scrub, you can scrub your lips as well as your body. If you didn't already know. You should be exfoliating at least once a week if not twice!

Dry Lips and Lip Care

My favourite favourite lip scrubs would have to be the Lush sugar lip scrubs, they smell and taste amazing and leave your lips feeling super soft and plump. They are only $9.95 and last so long.

You can also make your own sugar lip scrub by combining some brown sugar with some oil  or some paw paw ointment and wala! you have yourself some home made sugar scrub ready to scrub off any unwanted chapped skin in your lips! If you don't have time to make yourself some scrub and your lips are just to dry for life (lip stick isn't applying properly due to cracks) then grab yourself an old tooth brush and scrub gently at your lips with the brush to remove cracked skin!

Moisture is key, make sure you use lip balm during the day or even a lip conditioning treatment while you sleep both of these will help keep your lips in good condition through the colder months. Here's a few you can try..

Top to Bottom
Lucas Paw Paw ointment: $4
Nivea Lip Butter: $2.99
Nivea Balm Sticks: $3.50
Blister Daily Lip Conditioner: $6 but worth every penny

Body Care

Not only do our lips need loving in the colder months but so do our bodies, so treat your body the same as you'd treat your lips! Scrub atleast once a week and moisturise every time you come out of the shower, make it a routine and you'll never see moisturising as a hassle ever again!

Premium Spa Frangipani and Coconut Body Scrub

This is a selection of my favourite body moisturisers, that have never done me wrong.
Each of them leave my skin feeling amazing and also smelling deee-lish!

Left to Right
Vaseline Intensive Care Spray on moisturiser: $7.95
Vaseline Coca-Glow moisturiser: $7.95
Cetaphil Moisturiser for dry and sensitive skin: $17- $20
MOR moisturiser: $10 - $15
Nivea Intense Moisture: $10.95

Now yes, i agree most of us tend to shower morning or night which means the air is probably at it's coldest. So who in their right mind is actually going to want to stand in the cold applying moisturiser to their body? No one. I do however have a quick fix for this issue and that is the Nivea In shower moisturiser. All you have to do is your normal shower routine and after washing (hopefully towards the end of your shower) you then apply the in shower moisture all over your body and give it a quick rinse. Hop out and dry yourself normally and you'll love what you feel. I have used this product and it does an outstanding job, you feel seamless when you exit the shower.

Nivea in Shower Moisture: $6.50

Now most of the above products can be purchased from either Priceline, Woolworths, Big W, Target and other Pharmacies apart from Lush products that can only be purchased at Lush stores; Chermside and Queen Street Brisbane.
